Today we want to invite all those who live in Barcelona to take a walk with us.

Often, the history, the culture and the politics as well as the architecture of the city in which we live hide secrets, which go unnoticed by most of us in our daily lives. That’s why our Barcelona Architecture Walks are a great opportunity to discover and enjoy the city from another point of view.

Barcelona is an amazing city full of incredible stories that you can discover with us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our “Barcelona and the Sea” walking tour. We have lived in the city for 5 years, but didn’t realise how little we know about its architectural history until we did this tour. We would strongly recommend it to anyone who has a passion for Barcelona or for architecture.

Barcelona & Urbanism Walking Tour

Hi walkers!

Today we want to share with you a critique at Tripadvisor of which we are particularly proud.
This is what our walker Lily wrote after our BARCELONA & URBANISM walking tour with Miguel Angel.

Urbanizing the rural, ruralizing the urban.

”This tour is perfect for urbanists visiting Barcelona who want more than the typical tourist version of the city. I am a doctorate student in architecture and urban planning and had previously signed up for Gaudi walking tours in the city, but I highly recommend BAW over all others you will be able to find downtown.

I went on the Barcelona & Urbanism walk in early July 2016 with Miguel, and I left feeling like I could look at the city through a new lens. Miguel had deep insights about Barcelona’s urban fabric — from ancient times to modern times. We spoke at length about Cerda’s master plan of the city, and how it both has and has not been realized in present times. Many of our stops were in peaceful public courtyards and parks that tourists rarely see because they are not as well known, and the final stop included a beautiful panoramic view of the city from above. Miguel was also able to share some of his research materials with me afterward, which I will use to refer back to for much time to come!

Usually, walking tours are a form of broadcasting information from one person (a guide) to many (a group of people). However, this tour feels like a discussion, a conversation that allows for questions, shared observations and insights. It is one of the best decisions you will make in Barcelona if you go.”

Barcelona and the Sea walking tour

Hi walkers!

We are very proud about this review left by one of the last Walkers about our BARCELONA & THE SEA walking tour lead by Ricard…

Informative, fun, fantastic experience!

We originally booked the ‘Barcelona and the Market’ tour, but because the tour guide was not going to be in the country the day of our walk, they asked if we would like to switch tours and we were easily able to switch to the ‘Barcelona and the Sea’ tour. We went on the tour the morning of our first full day in Barcelona and I am so, so glad we did!! It was such a lovely and informative introduction to the city. My group of six walked for about 3 hours with Ricard all around the gothic quarter, Barcelonetta, and the waterfront. Everyone enjoyed and benefited from the tour, including 2 in the group who had been to Barcelona before. Ricard was extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, and obviously very passionate about design, history, and his city. He was even able to give us a local’s recommendations for places to eat and drink in the city during our trip (and every place we went was fabulous!). As a side note, and to contrast, we went with a different tour company to Sagrada Familia a few days later, and we just kept saying “I wish Ricard were here. This would be so much better if Ricard were doing this tour.” We really missed you Ricard! I couldn’t more highly recommend Barcelona Walking Tours to anyone and everyone visiting the city. If I ever get the chance to go back, I am absolutely going on another tour. I wish this group existed in every city!!

This is the review left by one of our last Walkers about our BARCELONA & THE FUTURE CITY walking tour… We love our Walkers!

“Barcelona’s Future: Architecture Tour”

Jordi Garet led us on a very insightful tour from the Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, which is a kind of “ground zero” for the future development of the city. He gave us background first, informed by maps and 150 years of attempts to make the plaza more livable, then led us on a walking tour of at least 10 buildings or sites, each with its own unique story. The tour was our 16-year-old’s idea, and we didn’t choose the Gaudi tour only because we knew we would later visit Casa Battlo, the Sagrada Familia, etc. and we wanted a broader view of the city.
