Digital Impact

Digital Impact the exhibition at Disseny Hub: events on Thursday June 22th

Digital Impact is an exhibition, but more than that, it is an experience; it is a city to explore and a map to name those people creating art’s present and future. It is a door to a revolutionary world, a bridge from Barcelona to the immersive, the colour, the shapes and the limitless imagination.

It is a disruptive x-ray of the current state of digital art and design, a sample of the creative force of a reality full of possibilities. It’s breaking barriers, it’s creating, and it’s exciting. It is a space to enjoy, fill your eyes, feel, connect and be deeply human.

ROUND TABLE / 22 OF JUN / 18:30H to 19:00H ‘Can digital culture be the future of the “Barcelona brand”?’
Barcelona and, by extension, Catalonia, has a rich, fertile, diverse ecosystem of agents working in the field of digital culture. Events such as the Digital Impact exhibition or Sónar’s 30th anniversary prove the importance and maturity of the city’s digital arts and culture sector, while posing a challenge to the city and the country: can we become an international leader in this field? What are the deficiencies or difficulties that this ecosystem faces, and how can we correct them to capitalize on its potential?

CONVERSATION + DEMO / 22 OF JUN / 19:15H A 19:45H Conversation/demo on AI and music, with AWWZ, UPC and Sónar

Artificial intelligence is quickly becoming the digital backbone of our lives, affecting every aspect of entertainment, culture and communication. Launched in 2021 by Sónar, the UPC and betéve, the AI and Music S+T+ARTS Festival explored the role of these new technologies in our lives, taking music as an example.

As part of Digital Impact, this transdisciplinary team will describe the process of co-creation, in which genre classification intersected with AI and performance. During the talk, they will present this specially trained AI, which translates YouTube comments into song suggestions, and AWWZ will give us a small demo of how it works.
