Discover a greener, multicultural, sustainable and respectful Barcelona
For more than a decade, Barcelona has been immersed in a continuous urban transformation that has led it to abandon commercial operations such as the Forum 2004 and focus on urban planning that balances all the species that inhabit our city… the Urban Resiliency.
Since Salvador Rueda’s Superblocks Barcelona has worked to minimize the use of cars to the benefit of their citizens.
Tactical urbanism, urbanism in transition, the implementation of Superblocks, the Barcelona Superilla project, and the most recent green axes and squares are in a continuous process of improvement thanks to the masterful project they operate on, the Eixample by Ildefons Cerda… the father of Modern urbanism.
During the tour, among other places, we will visit the Superblocks of Poble Nou and Sant Antoni, the green axis of Consell de Cent designed by Cierto Estudio and some of its squares, the Green Boulevard of Paseo Sant Joan by Lola Domenech, the Can Framis gardens by Jordi Badia, the recently inaugurated Plaça de Glories by landscape designer Ana Coello and we will discuss what the difficulties and challenges of each project are in reaching a common goal of increasing space for public interactions and to reinforce the social fabric of each neighborhood.
