Nos encanta saber de vosotros, walkers, vuestras inquietudes, sin sabores o incluso vuestros sueños y de igual modo nos gusta que sepáis de nosotros.
A través de BAW. NEWS iremos colgando nuestras actividades “especiales”: grupos grandes, rutas alternativas, conferencias, coloquios y toda actividad de nuestro colectivo que radique en el acercamiento de la arquitectura al Gran Público. Y no os olvidéis de contarnos que pensáis de todo este sarao!

We love hearing about you, walkers, your interests, concerns or even your dreams and aswell we love you heard about us.
Through the BAW. NEWS we will post our “special” actions: big groups, alternative rutes, lectures, symposiums and any activity of our group stem on the rapprochement of the Architecture to the larger public. And don’t forget to tell us what do you think about all this soirée!

What’s a city? / Revolución Industrial / Modernity / Vias e Intervias / Science of Urbanization / 22@ / Sidewalks …..

En verano de 1859 inicia su andadura la Barcelona del Presente, se aprueba el proyecto de su Ensanche y con él nacen dos iniciativas históricas: la primera personal de su diseñador D. Ildefons Cerdà por trascender lo concreto creando la nueva ciencia de la Urbanización y la otra de la ciudad de Barcelona por denostar y desprestigiar a este Ingeniero de ideas progresistas.

Con la BAW.3 viajaremos al origen de las líneas maestras que trazó Ildefons Cerdà sobre el plano de Barcelona, aquella malla cuadrangular de 133×133 m sin límites ni jerarquías ni periferias que ha otorgado a Barcelona la condición de ciudad racional y avanzada tanto técnica como socialmente.

Deambulando entre patios de manzana y la cuadrícula ilimitada hablaremos de comunicación e internet, de vías e intervias, de despotismo ilustrado y 22@ y de la riqueza arquitectónica de la Barcelona de Cerdà.

In Summer of 1859, the Barcelona of today started its journey with the approval of the project of its expansion and with the two historical initiatives born with it: the first personal of its designer M. Ildefons Cerdà went beyond the concrete creating the new science of Urbanization and the second one of the city of Barcelona to denounce and discredit the progressively-minded Engineer.

With the BAW.3 we will travel to the origins of the master lines Ildefons Cerdà drew on Barcelona’s plane, that quadrangular mesh of 133×133 m without limits or hierarchies or outskirts which has grant Barcelona the reputation of a technically and socially intelligent city.

Wandering around courtyards and the expansive grid we will talk about communication and internet, ways and between-ways, of enlightened despotism, 22@ and about the architectural richness of the Barcelona of Cerdà.

El Paseo empezará fuera del Centro Cultural Teresa Pàmies en C/ Comte d’urgell 145, entre C/ Provença i C/ Mallorca (Metro L5 o Buses 43/44/14/59).  Se ruega llegar con 10 minutos de antelación.

The WALK will begin outside of Teresa Pamies Cultural Center at 145 Comte d’Urgell Street, between Provença street and Mallorca Street (Metro L5 Hospital Clinic or Buses 43/44/14/59). Please arrive 10 minutes before the WALK starts.

BAW 22@. RETHINKING CITIES

Media-TIC/ Glories / 22@ district / Can Framis / Carbon footprint / Superblocks / Agbar tower / Ildefons Cerdà / Cradle to Cradle ……

Jean Nouvel, Ricardo Bofill, Rafael Moneo, Fermín Vazquez, MBM arquitectes, Jordi Badia, Josep Benedito, Batlle & Roig, David Chipperfield, Rahola Vidal y Enric Ruiz Geli…could all these chefs together cook a good and unique stew? 

Our newest expedition…BAW 22@. RETHINKING CITIES is an urban walking reflection getting back the main aims of Urbanisms to check them at the  22@ district, an urban workshop hoping to be an economic redraw up of the ancient industrial neighbourhood Poblenou.

While we persue, between architecture stars, the tail of the Media-ITC (winner WAF 2011: World’s best building of the year), we will talk about independence, patents, parametric architecture, cradle to cradle, carbon footprint and some words about Ildefons Cerdà… the Master and Founder.

Nuestra más nueva expedición …BAW 22@. REPENSANDO LAS CIUDADES es una reflexión urbana que camina recuperando los objetivos originarios del urbanismo para comprobarlos en el distrito 22@, un taller urbano que pretende ser reformulación económica del antiguo barrio industrial del Poblenou.

Mientras persigamos, entre estrellas arquitectónicas, la estela del Media-TIC (winner WAF 2011: World’s best building of the year), hablaremos sobre independencias, patentes, arquitectura paramétrica, cradle to cradle, huella de carbono y alguna que otra palabra sobre Ildefons Cerdà… el Maestro y fundador.
