Llum BCN is back from 6 to 8 February!
Llum BCN 2026, the festival of light arts, is going into its fifteenth edition. Come check out twelve installations by internationally renowned artists, eighteen from the city’s undergraduate degree programmes in design, art and architecture, and a range of creations in cultural and shopping venues.
With the theme “Night Landscapes”, the festival will offer a different, magical night-time experience of architecture, stripping it of its functionality and embracing experimentation to explore the full potential of buildings, streets and squares. The festival is organised by the Barcelona Institute of Culture, with lighting designer Maria Güell i Ordis serving as artistic director in collaboration with Austrian curator Birgit Lill-Schnabl.
In addition, Llum BCN 2026 features ten light installations combined with dance in Barcelona’s ten districts, to celebrate and welcome Barcelona, World Capital of Architecture. The programme highlights unique works of architecture with pieces created for iconic buildings throughout the city.
The graphic identity for Llum BCN 2026 was developed by the creative studio DAQ, which generated several scenes featuring dreamlike and magical spaces, permeated by a source of light and energy that interacts with the architecture. The aim is to convey the emotional and subjective potential of light, turning each piece into a moment of contemplation and visual experimentation.
